Atropat Hotel enjoys a very central location and is positioned in historical Old City within walking distance to main tourist attractions of Baku: Maiden's Tower, Palace of Shirvanshahs, Caspian boulevard, etc. The Atropat is at the top of the Old City, close to the Shirvan Shah palace, but it's a short walk to all the sights.

Hotel offers excellent accommodation facilities for the tourists. This is a quiet and comfortable hotel with 26 Standard, 2 Suite and 2 Junior rooms. The rooms at the hotel are all elegantly appointed and come with a wide variety of modern amenities and gadgets. All rooms are equipped with individually controlled AC, hair-dryer, mini-bar, satellite TV, safe box. Rooms are very large and well decorated. The interior is starting to look tired and dated. The only criticism is that the walls are so thin that you could hear all movement in the adjoining room. Also, if you care about the view from your room though, do not stay at the Atropat as you look out onto decrepit buildings.

Terrace restaurant has the food of excellent quality and good value with a good view of Baku. Breakfast is poor:  local version of cereals, instant coffee only... Staff is good and polite, but they do not speak much English apart from front office manager.

In general, the hotel doesn't stand even close to the western 4 star standards (it has an Azerbaijan's Tourism Ministry 4 star rating) but you will have a decent accommodation in the heart of Baku city. Given that competition is increasing with a number of quirky, designer boutique hotels springing up around the Old City and international chains outside, the Atropat needs to up its game to stay in the running.
