Four stars AUSTIN HOTEL is located in heart of Baku city centre within close proximity to Baku'a highlights such as Fountain Square, Malakan Gardens, Caspian sea Boulevard, also within easy reach of the Old City and Maiden’s Tower. Its major advantage is that it is located smack in the middle of pedestrian shopping area with a number of cafes and boutique shops around. The old walled city as well as the seaside are only about 10-15 minutes walking distance away. The hotel is also in a pedestrianized area, so you won't be able to get dropped off directly outside.
Austin Hotel Baku is quite small with just 31 spacious and comfortably designed rooms. Each room has a balcony with stunning views of Baku, and is an ideal place for businessmen as well as for leisure travelers. Every suite in Austin Hotel has self-controlled heating system, air-conditioning, international direct dial telephone, high speed internet access cable/satellite TV, in-room safe, mini bar. Tea & coffee making facilities are available in the rooms. Even standard rooms are spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Free internet access is provided in each room and there is a computer in the lounge that guests can use. Satellite TV has a very large range of available channels.
The staff in Austin hotels is friendly, helpful and very attentive to the guests. Staff at reception is especially good demostrating helpful approach to everything.
The breakfast in hotel is fine but not impressive. Dont expect too much but dont worry, it will fill you. There is bread, cheese and industry scrambled egg.
There is no restaurant but delivery from a local restaurant Picasso is available for room service. Besides there are a number of restaurants only 10 meters from Hotel, for example Manti Evi (local food specialising in local version of large dumplings) right in front or Lebanese restaurant at opposite street corner.
Another drawback is that there is no lobby and no elevator. Upon entering the hotel you have to go up a flight of stairs to reception then after that more stairs to your room so be ready to walk up several flights of stairs to get to your room.
The small gym has a treadmill, rowing machine and stationary bike, and there's also a mini-swimming pool with jets. The Fitness Center has a TV set to entertain visitors.
Good 3* facilities, clean, well managed, strong free Wi-Fi, basic breakfast, a gym, and right in the centre of the city. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Not too expensive but good quality. All in all this is a really nice place to base yourself whilst exploring Baku. Would suit rather tourist than business travelers
