Irshad Hotel is one of the first private hotels in Baku city built in 1996. It has deserved its respect by high standards of service and proved to be a decent place to stay for both corporate and individual travelers. Conveniently located just 10-15 minutes drive from Baku city centre and Boulevard, surrounded by gross greenery and a large Djaparidze park, which is considered to be the largest in Baku. Embassies of Russia and USA are located just few minutes drive from the hotel as well as lot of financial and business organisations. Irshad hotel offers five floors of rooms on a quiet corner of a long green park in between Metro Genclik and the US Embassy. The clean air of the neighborhood is a huge advantage over the busier parts of the seaside center, as is the excellent service from a mostly young, Azeri/Russian/English-speaking staff. The hotel also has a car and driver with extremely reasonable rates. There is a Metro station nearby or one can have a 30 min walk to Caspian sea boulevard and Old City.
The hotel staff is always trying to make the guests feel completely satisfied.
There are 21 rooms in total in Irshad Hotel, including 10 Twin rooms, 9 Suite rooms and 2 Suite Apartments rooms. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. They are a bit dated by some standards: a funny mix of Danish modern, Russian dacha, and late Soviet comfort, but kept terrifically clean.
Deluxe Double Rooms - this type of room includes balcony, two separate beds, Satellite television, manually controlled air-conditioning and heating, refrigerator, Jacuzzi, and direct international telephone.
Deluxe Twin Rooms - this type of room has a separate bedroom with two separate beds, a living room, Satellite television, manually controlled air-conditioning and heating, refrigerator, Jacuzzi, and direct international telephone.
2 LUX Apartments - this type of room consists of a hall, kitchen and two separate bedrooms. It is equipped with Satellite television, (VCR, DVD player, Stereo and CD equipment on request), manually controlled air-conditioning and heating, refrigerator, Jacuzzi, electric oven and direct international telephone.
The complimentary buffet breakfast is quite substantial. They don't mind to cook smth on your request if it is not on the breakfast menu. Food and service at the restaurant are very good with both traditional Azerbaijani dishes as well as American fare.
P.S. Many travelers might be interested by the fact that the Pope John Paul II stayed in this hotel while visiting Azerbaijan. John Paul II and his 12 cardinals (from 22 to 23 May, 2002) honored the hotel staying there and they were quite pleased with the room facilities, high-level service and hotel's delicious cuisine. This fact alone speaks for itself and can serve as an example of the best high-level service provided in this hotel and attentive care for the customers.
The Irshad is an ideal hotel for people who already know Baku a bit, and are looking for excellent value off the more beaten track of the sea boulevard or Fountain Square. The price, obviously, is also hard to beat.
