City Palace Hotel is located in cultural and business centre of Baku city-steps away from major tourist attractions and trendy restaurants-bars-cafes. The hotel is located on very narrow, hard to find, poorly lighted street, so make sure that taxi drivers know the location before getting a ride. This hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Baku's Old City and the Shirvans Shakhs Palace. 'Sahil' Metro Station and the National Academic Drama Theatre are also within a 10-minute walk.

The hotel is in 6 floor building and provides accommodation in 27 comfortable guestrooms of various categories. There is an elevator present. Reception area is extremely narrow but public areas are well maintained. Non-smoking rooms are available. Room-service is available 24 hours-housekeeping is performed daily.

Rooms at the City Palace Baku feature contemporary decor and air conditioning. An LCD TV, private bathroom and minibar are standard in each room. No safe in the rooms. Rooms are clean and quite large. Standard rooms have shower only, suites come with bathtub. For some reason they have bed sheets for a single bed on a queen sized bed. Brush for shoes, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers available in the room.

Breakfast is rather basic and could be improved. Staff is friendly but hardly had any training in hospitality industry.

The hotel is not a 4-star facility (as they claim to be) by any hotel classification standard. If you are happy with a 3-star facility, this hotel can be good value for the money.
