Recently constructed Monolit Plaza Hotel is 4* property just 10 minutes drive from Baku city centre traffic jams permitted. The hotel located at the Badamdar municipality in Baku in the middle of boring suburbs. It is used either as a cheaper option for participants of conferences taking place in the nearby Kempinski Hotel, or by locals for gatherings in the wine cellar.
Rooms have no charaсter and unattractive. But they are large and divided into sittingroom and bedroom. There are no basic amenities such as toothbrush glasses, no kettle, no cups, no cork screw, no full length mirror, just a tiny wardrobe with only four hangers, a 'safe' that is not secured in any way, synthetic soft furnishings, thin towels, one pillow per bed. There is free WiFi access in rooms. Service is pretty basic too.
the only elevator is very slow. Breakfast starts with 'what you want?' and there is little enough on offer.
People here do not speak nor understand English and look little groomy.
The whole experience of this hotel is dire and depressing. Rates are quite OK for Baku
